SINGAPORE, 27 October 2022 – Climargy CEO and Asia-Pacific ESCO Industry Alliance (APEIA) co-chair Alexander Ablaza was invited by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) to lead panel discussions on innovative business models during the energy efficiency (EE) track earlier today as part of the three-day Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES) 2022 held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
Joining Ablaza in the panel were: James Maguire, Managing Director Asia, Sustainable Development Capital (SDCL) LLP; Atchariya Jangchay, Engineer, Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Ministry of Energy, Thailand; Boon Chye Hoe, CEO, Barghest Building Performance (BBP); and, Jasper Wong, Head of Construction and Infrastructure, Sector Solutions Group, UOB.
The panel discussion sought to identify opportunities to build regional or national technology platforms as a route to generate demand for EE technologies, project the growing potential for technology platforms to provide new channels for EE financing and capital flows and inspire expanded roles of governments and private sector players to enable innovation in EE business models.
Ablaza showcased Climargy as one of the world’s pioneer private-sector super-ESCO aggregators of ESCO project assets in the C&I sector of emerging markets, purposely to address the persistent market failure of EE portfolio finance across energy efficiency markets.
ACES is the region’s leading event focusing on clean energy technology, policy and finance supported by leading government agencies, research institutes and industry in Singapore. Held as part of the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), ACES provides a common platform for regional thought leaders in both the public and private sector to collaborate on critical issues and opportunities in harnessing clean energy for the future.
